Sony 1280-Watt 5.1-Channel DVD Theater System

You've never had as many home audio and video options as you do now, from digital music files to satellite radio. Recognizing this, Sony designed the DAVFX900W to let you experience these technologies with the highest quailty in-home audio/video experience possible, all in one attractive and easy-to-use system.

Everything You Need

At the heart of this DVD Dream System is an entire home entertainment system in one compact chassis. Inside, you'll find a slot loading 5-disc DVD/CD changer, a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound decoder with several different modes, an AM/FM tuner, and a fully-digital amplifier that pumps out 1280 watts of total system power. The DAVFX900W Dream System features 480p progressive scan video output, so you can enjoy the highest picture quality possible with DVDs. The DVD player also doubles as an SACD player that offers surround sound playback of Super Audio CDs as well as stereo playback of standard CD, CD-R, and CD-RW discs. The DVD Dream System also supports playback of JPEG slide shows, and even MP3 CDs.

Video Features

With more DVD formats than you can count on one hand, it's good to have universality in a player. The five-disc DVD/CD changer included in the DAVFX900W home theater package can accept nearly anything you throw at it, including DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, DVD+R DL, and DVD-RW CPRM. Even better, it progressively scans, increasing the picture quality you'll see on your screen. Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive Technology feature detects image changes at the pixel level versus the scan line level. Moving and still parts of an image are processed with separate algorithms, so backgrounds are sharper and moving objects don't create artifacts. And, the DVD/CD changer also offers HDMI output with 720p/1080i upscaling of DVD media, so you can run digital audio and video in a single cable to other components. The player reads the data on a standard DVD at 480p and maximizes the video resolution to best fit your HDMI compatible TV.

Surround Yourself

Of course, what would a home theater be without booming, immersive 5.1 channel surround sound? Sony's DAVFX900W supplies that cinematic experience via six different speakers--two stereo speakers, a center speaker, two surround speakers, and a subwoofer for low frequencies. The speakers are powered by the system's integrated S-Master Digital Amplifier, which provides true digital signal processing and minimizes digital to analog conversion. It also boasts built-in Dolby Digital, dts, and Dolby Pro Logic II decoders.

Sneaky Devils

Imagine an advanced home theater setup without the telltale mess of wires and cables running behind entertainment centers, under furniture, and across your floors. The DAVFX900W provides simple connectivity, and even allows you to do away with speaker cables for the rear surrounds thanks to Sony's Digital Infrared Audio Transmission (DIAT) wireless technology. This advanced wireless technology has enough bandwidth to maintain the signal integrity of the highest-resolution surround sound sources, including HDTV and SACD. The rear speakers, while still connected to each other by cable and plugged into a wall outlet, are not tethered to the front amplifier. They have their own built-in amplifiers so you don't have to run cables from the front of the room to the back. The speakers in this package are designed to fit into almost any living space, even places where you never thought you'd be able to set up a home theater. Slim and ultra-compact, they have stands built in, so you can just place them on the floor wherever you'd like. No mounting, no extra hardware. Connecting everything together is made as simple as possible. The DVD Dream System's speakers and cabling are color-coded and clearly labeled for fast and easy setup. Even if you're an audio/video novice, you can set up a fantastic-sounding 5.1 channel speaker system in minutes.

Make Some Connections

The DVD Dream System features multiple inputs and outputs, including digital connections for satellite TV and HDTV signals. S-video, component video, and composite video connections offer connectivity to both digital and analog television sets. Digital optical audio inputs provide connections to other digital audio components, and analog audio inputs allow hook-up just about any audio component or device. Any way you use it--whether you're starting from scratch or upgrading from an older, bulkier home theater system--the DAVFX900W DVD Dream System from Sony is the most advanced, versatile, and comprehensive choice for your home theater needs.
